We’re PitPat – a Cambridge-based consumer electronics and pet technology company, built by a talented multidisciplinary team spanning hardware, software, product, marketing, operations and customer support.
We take the work seriously, but not ourselves. Alongside building clever technology for dogs, we’re a sociable bunch: team lunches for new starters, BBQs and table tennis in the garden, and plenty of reasons to get together, outside the day-to-day. It’s a close-knit team where people know each other, share ideas freely and genuinely enjoy working together.
Together, we create smart technology that helps owners keep a closer eye on their dog’s activity, location, weight and everyday wellbeing. Everything connects through the PitPat app, turning useful data into a clearer picture of how their dog is getting on.
Our aim is simple: combine great people, clever technology and a deep understanding of dog ownership to take some of the guesswork out of dog care and give owners more peace of mind.
We design technology specifically for dogs, bringing together hardware, software and a deep understanding of everyday dog ownership.
We started with the PitPat Dog Activity Monitor, helping owners understand their dog’s exercise, play and rest. Today, PitPat GPS adds live location tracking with unlimited range, using satellite GPS and mobile networks, while also tracking activity and wellbeing. Owners can see everything in the PitPat app, use Dog Finder to help locate a dog who has wandered out of sight, and share their dog with family members or dog walkers, so everyone involved in their care can stay in the loop.
Behind that simple customer experience is a broad consumer technology business. We handle much of the work in-house, including hardware and software development, product design, manufacturing, marketing, operations and customer support. Different disciplines work closely together, which means ideas move quickly and people have the opportunity to make a real difference well beyond the boundaries of their job title.
We aim to stay at the leading edge not only in our technology, but in how we understand customers, market our products and support the people who use them. We carry out customer research, learn continually from real-world product use and feed what our support team hears directly back into product and service development. That deep understanding of dogs and their owners influences everything from the features we build to the way we communicate.
Our reach goes well beyond Cambridge too. Over the years we’ve worked with major businesses across pet food, insurance, veterinary care and retail, attracted investment from international industry partners, advertised nationally on television and developed routes to customers in the US and other international markets.
Our products are recommended by thousands of veterinary professionals, with PitPat activity data also used by veterinary teams in areas including weight management, physiotherapy and monitoring activity during recovery.
Our technology is designed in Britain, the PitPat Dog GPS Tracker bears the official Made in Britain trademark, and our Cambridge-based support team is available seven days a week.
We’re a technology business, but everything starts with the dog. We design around how dogs really live and how people really look after them, while giving talented people the freedom to solve interesting problems, try new things and build products that genuinely make everyday dog ownership better.
